What to do for Ryder's first Adventure
Ryder's opening quest turns the scrap you have been gathering into a reason to leave the city. For the Loftia Ryder Adventures quest in the demo, meet him at the Adventure Dock, obtain Scrambled Coordinates while gathering, follow the objective to show them to the adventurer, and play your first Adventure through to the end. Return to Ryder afterward to continue the main story toward Cliff's glider blueprint.
This guide follows player experience in Z1 Gaming's narrated demo session, with supporting demo reports from chillinwithchi. It explains the first tutorial outing, not every Adventure island or an Early Access route already tested before the scheduled November 3, 2026 launch.
| Quest stage | Your next action |
|---|---|
| Meet Ryder | Follow the story handoff to the Adventure Dock |
| Find Scrambled Coordinates | Gather and break ordinary material piles around Loftia City |
| Show the coordinates | Follow the updated objective to the adventurer |
| First Adventure | Enter the tutorial outing and complete available objectives before its timer ends |
| Return to the city | Finish the results and return sequence, then talk to Ryder |
| Continue the story | See Cliff for the tested glider blueprint |
Reach Ryder and find the coordinates
In the demonstrated opening story, the Ryder handoff follows Milo's refining tutorial. The player has already built a refining station and processed metal plate, plank, straw, and rubber before returning to Milo and being sent to meet Ryder.
Head to the Adventure Dock and speak to Ryder. He introduces the research trips beyond Loftia and his airship, Humphrey. The quest then asks you to find Scrambled Coordinates.
The narrated player initially misses the exact pickup while breaking piles, but the objective changes to showing the coordinates to the adventurer. Later in the same session, the player specifically reports getting more coordinates while gathering plant fiber. That supports an actionable starting point: collect ordinary resources around the city rather than searching for a single named quest chest.
Once the objective updates, follow its instruction to show the coordinates to the adventurer. You do not need to keep farming just because you did not notice the item appearing. Check the quest text and your inventory before making another circuit.
A separate demo player report describes an Adventure entry cost of three Scrambled Coordinates. Use the entry display in your own build for the required amount; that demo observation does not establish every future Adventure's price.
Prepare for the tutorial and work through its goals
Before departing, recharge your battery and check the outing's instructions for tools. This matters immediately because the first tutorial includes powering beacons with battery energy. The first player report also warns about bringing essential tools, even though the player enters without carefully preparing.
The narrated introductory trip gives a four-minute window. Treat that as the first tutorial's reported timer, rather than a universal time limit for all Adventures.
Its objective types include:
- Energizing beacons: interact with the beacons and use battery power to activate them.
- Building seismic sonars: look for the sonar objectives and supply what their interaction requires.
- Completing a gauntlet: enter the available course and reach its completion.
Look at the active objectives as soon as you arrive so you can decide where to spend your remaining time. Keep an eye on your battery, especially before moving to another beacon. If an interaction asks for materials you do not have, use the other available goals instead of spending the whole timer trying to force that one task.
The demonstrated tutorial includes a course marked for one player without a glider or propeller. You therefore do not need to have unlocked the glider to follow this first quest route; the story sends you for it afterward.
The player completes all three Blooms' worth of goals in that run. Ryder's introduction encourages making progress and learning the activities, however, and the quest's explicit instruction is to play an Adventure through to the end. Follow your tracked objective instead of assuming a perfect run is a separate universal requirement.
Finish the outing, return to Ryder, and continue
Stay for the Adventure's completion and results sequence, then return to the city. The narrated run receives Blooms alongside other rewards, including a clothing fragment, currency, a chest key, and skill points. Those are reported results from that outing, not a guaranteed identical loot list for every run.
Speak to Ryder after coming back. He discusses the Blooms and tells the player that finding more Scrambled Coordinates will allow further Adventures. He then directs you to Cliff, who has a tested glider blueprint ready.
That last conversation is easy to overlook if you focus only on the rewards. For the opening main quest, your next step is Cliff, rather than another round of gathering or immediately starting a second Adventure.
The demo narration also describes Adventures supporting up to four players, with solo queueing and matchmaking available. You can reach this first tutorial through solo player experience; a prearranged four-person group is not established as a prerequisite.
For later sessions, coordinate objective choices when playing with others so the group can cover more tasks before time runs out. That is practical advice based on the timed objective format, rather than a claim that every island shares the tutorial's layout or timer.
The official Early Access preview announces more distant research islands and gauntlets beyond the demo's selection. Their full routes, rewards, and requirements are outside this first-Adventure walkthrough.
FAQ
Where is Ryder for the opening quest?
The main story sends you to meet him at the Adventure Dock after Milo's refining tutorial. Follow that handoff and speak to Ryder there.
Where do the first Scrambled Coordinates come from?
The demo player experience obtains them while gathering and breaking ordinary city material piles. Plant-fiber gathering is explicitly mentioned as a source later in the same session. No guaranteed per-node drop rate is established.
Do you need a glider before your first Adventure?
No glider is required in the demonstrated first tutorial route. The player completes the outing and returns to Ryder before receiving the handoff to Cliff's glider blueprint.
What should you do after the Adventure ends?
Finish the return sequence, speak to Ryder, and then go to Cliff for the next main-story step. Completing another Adventure is not the next handoff in the narrated opening route.
