How the demo glider unlock works

Loftia's glider unlock starts with Cliff, but it takes a detour through crafting and your first Adventure before you can fly. Complete Milo's refining tutorial, finish Ryder's first outing, return to Cliff for the glider blueprint, and craft it at your project station. Knowing that chain saves you from searching for a glider recipe before the story has handed it over.

This route comes from player experience in Z1 Gaming's narrated free-demo session. It covers the opening Loftia City progression, with Early Access still scheduled for November 3, 2026. It does not claim that the upcoming release has been personally tested.

Reach Cliff and complete Milo's refining lesson

The demo sends you to Cliff after the early farming and island-expansion stretch. If you have only just arrived, keep following Pebble, Milo, and Hazel's introductory tasks first. They establish the project station, hammer, crops, shipping, and cooking before Amani introduces garden-bed permits.

When the story turns toward the affected districts, Cliff asks about your safety device. This begins the Permission to Glide stage in the player's narration and sends you to Milo.

Milo's gathering stage names metal scraps, scrap wood, plant fiber, and tires. Collect the amounts your active objective requests, then return to him. The reward at this point is the refining-station blueprint, so do not expect the finished glider yet.

At home:

  1. Craft a refining station through your project station.
  2. Place it on your island.
  3. Use it to process the requested metal plate, plank, straw, and rubber.
  4. Wait for processing to finish and collect the output.
  5. Return to Milo after completing the objective.

The refining station turns raw resources into refined materials over time. Select the material and quantity, start the order, and check its indicator for completion. Keep your project station nearby so you can move between processing and crafting without reorganizing your island.

Battery energy also matters. Recharge at your solar panel before making stations or other items, and check the recipe display for the actual cost. A missing charge and a missing ingredient are different reasons a craft may be unavailable.

Finish Ryder's first Adventure and collect Cliff's blueprint

After the refining work, Milo sends you to Ryder at the Adventure Dock. Ryder introduces Adventures and asks you to find Scrambled Coordinates.

In the demo player experience, the initial coordinates are acquired while breaking ordinary material piles around the city. The same player later explicitly reports finding them while gathering plant fiber. Continue gathering resources, then return to Ryder when the objective changes to showing the coordinates to the adventurer.

Enter the first tutorial Adventure and finish the outing. The narrated goals involve battery-powered beacons, seismic sonars, and a gauntlet. Work through the available objectives before the timer expires, then follow the completion and return sequence.

You do not need to own a glider before this first Adventure. In the narrated session, the player completes the introductory outing first and receives the glider handoff afterward.

Speak to Ryder once you are back. He directs you to Cliff, who now has the tested glider blueprint. Visit Cliff and obtain that blueprint before returning home to craft. Merely building the refining station leaves this part of the unlock unfinished.

Craft the glider, activate it, and finish the handoff

With Cliff's blueprint obtained, return to your island and check the glider recipe at the project station. The narrated final craft explicitly lists glass cullets, straw, and rubber.

The player gathers additional tires and plant fiber, then returns home to finish the required refining. Check the final recipe before spending materials elsewhere, and collect the completed refined output before trying to craft the glider. The available narration does not establish a dependable full quantity list, so use your recipe screen for the exact numbers.

Recharge your battery, select the glider, and craft it. For the demo's keyboard controls, jump, then press Space again to activate the glider. Afterward, return to Cliff and show him your newly crafted safety device to continue the story.

If you get stuck, check which stage you have actually completed:

  • No glider recipe: finish the first Ryder Adventure and speak to Cliff for the blueprint.
  • Recipe visible, craft unavailable: check materials, collected refining output, and battery charge.
  • Glider crafted, quest still active: return to Cliff for the show-your-glider objective.

The demo storyline then approaches the Hanging Gardens and stops before you enter that district. The glider is usable within the demonstrated opening, but obtaining it does not remove that demo boundary.

The official Early Access feature overview also announces a Propeller upgrade for the Glider as part of expanded traversal. That announcement describes a later addition; it does not provide a verified unlock route for the upgrade, and the propeller is not a prerequisite in this demo glider chain.

FAQ

Who gives you the glider blueprint?

Cliff provides the tested glider blueprint after the first Ryder Adventure. Milo supplies the earlier refining-station stage.

What materials does the demo glider use?

The final craft in the player's narration lists glass cullets, straw, and rubber. Check the recipe in your own build for quantities and battery requirements.

Can you unlock it without completing Ryder's introduction?

The demonstrated demo route completes Ryder's first Adventure before Cliff's blueprint handoff. The material does not establish an alternative shortcut around that sequence.

How do you open the glider with a keyboard?

Jump and press Space again to activate it with the controls described in the demo. These instructions do not establish a controller button mapping.
